12/20/2012 11:00 PMIn light of the tragic school shooting at Newtown's Sandy Hook Elementary School last week, Clinton resident Ashley Millett is using her hobby to give back to the families who are suffering.
On Saturday, December 22
nd
, Ashley, along with help from friend Nadia Dillon, are organizing a bake sale on the first floor at the Henry Carter Hull Library. All proceeds are being donated to the family members of those who perished on Friday, December 14
th
, through the United Way of Western Connecticut's Sandy Hook School Support Fund.
“We both love to bake so we figured why not turn something that we love into a way to help the families. We were asking for donations, whether it be a slice of bread or two-dozen cookies…anything to help those families,” Millett said. “I’m really excited about it. There’s no amount of money that can bring these children (and adults) back, but if it can help the people that were left behind in some way, at least it’s something.”
The bake sale will take place from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. To learn more, contact Millet at (860) 331-9983.
