Killingworth Bank Robbery Under Investigation

Shortly after 1 p.m., Connecticut State Police at Troop F received a bank alarm reporting that TD Bank on Route 81 in Killingworth was just robbed. Troopers responded to the scene and immediately secured the crime scene and initiated a search for the suspect. State Police Troopers, K-9 teams, and Trooper ONE searched the area for the suspect with negative results. All surrounding police departments were advised of the robbery and a description of the suspect.

Troopers determined that a lone white male wearing gloves, a dark-colored hooded jacket, and sunglasses presented the teller with a note demanding money. The suspect implied that he had a handgun, but one was not displayed during robbery. There were no injuries in this robbery.

State Police Major Crime Detectives responded to process the bank robbery scene for both physical and forensic evidence. Troopers interviewed several witnesses to this robbery. Troopers also obtained photos from bank surveillance cameras.

State Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area of the bank before or after the robbery and who may have seen anything, to please contact State Police at 860-399-2100. All calls will be kept confidential.

The investigation is continuing.
