10/31/2012 12:00 AMWondering if Halloween is on in your town? Here's what's afoot.
On Facebook, the Town of Madison writes:
"Regarding Halloween: If your neighborhood is safe - Trick or Treat from 4 to 6 p.m.
Otherwise: Trick or Treating will be available downtown from 4 to 6 p.m. Please park in the parking lots (not on Route 1) for safety."
In Killingworth, The Regional School District 17 Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/HKSchools?fref=ts) has information on which events -- many of them school-related -- are still on and which are canceled.
The Town of Guilford has postponed Halloween trick-or-treating. According to its Facebook page: "A new date will be set once we can be assured that the roads are cleared and are safe for trick-or-treating."
However, in Guilford, Bishop's Orchards Farm Market at 1355 Boston Post Road invites families to a Halloween Pumpkin Carving event today at 1 p.m. On its Facebook page, Bishop's says:
"All pumpkins that are carved on site for this event are free, and we ask that in lieu of purchasing the pumpkin, you make a donation to the Women & Family Life Center. The donations will supply funds to help clean up efforts and housing needs by needy families on the shoreline. Bring your scoops and carving tools if you have them, otherwise we will have some to share. Take the pumpkin home, or choose to place it on display that we will set up for a Bishop Spooktacular in front of the Little Red Barn for Halloween night. We invite you to dress up in costumes, too!"
