A man who police say had been burglarizing vehicles in North Branford has been arrested thanks to help from in-store video surveillance and the assistance of East Haven Police.

Aaron Ainslie, 36, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 6 and charged with seven counts of burglary and one count of fifth degree larceny.

According to police, early in May the North Branford Police Department responded to a number of vehicle burglaries along Foxon Road and Totoket Road. The burglaries were happening during the early morning hours and the suspect entered unlocked motor vehicles, taking anything of value including electronics, tools, gift cards, loose change, wallets and credit cards. Several credit cards were used at Wal-Mart in New Haven and Lowes in New Haven.

Ainslie was unable to post a 25,000.00 dollar bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in New Haven on Monday.
