08/06/2012 11:00 AMTwo men were arrested on Sunday after Clinton Police pulled over the driver on a routine traffic stop. According to police, Officer Greg Matakaetis pulled over a vehicle driven by Nathaniel Etzel, 29, of Boston Post Road, Madison, and registered to Bryan Gallagher, 29, of Clinton at 6:48 p.m. on Sunday evening. During the course of the stop police located a number of drugs and related parapernalia.
Police locaed hundreds of pills of Oxycontin, Klonopin, Valium, as well as 45 bags of heroin, over $2,000 in cash, a BB gun, drug paraperhanlia, night vision goggles, and binoculars. Etzel, who was driving the car, was found to be driving with a suspended driver's license.
Gallagher, the owner of the car, admitted that all of the items in the car belonged to him except for the drug paraperhanlia in the driver's pocket. He was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and weapons in a motor vehicle. He was held n a $50,000 bond and appears in Middletown Superior Court on Monday.
Etzel was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was released on a promise to appear and will appear in Middletown Superior Court on Aug. 14.
