07/31/2012 02:00 PMEast Haven Police have released the name of both the driver and the bicyclist who were involved in Monday's fatal accident that ocurred just before noon on Coe Avenue.
Police responded to a serious motor vehicle accident at 11:49 a.m. on Monday, July 30 in the area of Ocean Port Market, 50 Coe Avenue. A preliminary investigation indicates that a Toyota Sienna minivan, operated by Cheryle Tyson, 52, of Milford, was traveling southbound on Coe Avenue when it collided with bicyclist Jeffrey Harrison, 61, of East Haven. The minivan then collided with a telephone pole and rolled onto its side.
Harrison was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital and was later pronounced dead. Tyson and her two passengers were tansported to Yale New Haven Hospital and St. Raphael's Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
