05/16/2012 09:00 AMThe Town Council was in full attendance at its May 15, voting eight to one to set the 2012-13 mill rate at 27.77 for a zero-mill increase over the 2011-‘12 rate. The new tax season begins July 1, 2012 as does the use of the new town budget of $47.3 million. Voting against the new mill rate was council member Joseph Faugnhan (D), who during the council’s education budget workshop in April had supported keeping at least $400,000 of a proposed $1.25 million education budget increase that was ultimately cut by a council vote of six to three.
