04/23/2012 10:00 AMAfter an investigation by North Branford Police, James Mauro, 29, of West Haven and Jamie Corso, 28, of Hamden were arrested and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
According to police Mauro entered the Big Y supermarket on Foxon Road on March 24. He took baby formula totaling $180.30 and left the store without paying. He entered a vehicle being operated by Corso.
The investigation revealed that Mauro and Corso were involved in similar incidents at supermarkets in surrounding towns.
Mauro and Corso are scheduled to appear in court in New Haven on May 3 and were released on a written promise to appear. Both individuals were wanted by Guilford Police on similar charges and were turned over to the Guilford Police Department following their arrests.
