EHHS Marching Band En Route to Disney World

The East Haven High School Marching Band gathered early Thursday morning before departing to perform at Disney World.

After a series of successful competitions the East Haven High School Marching Band is heading to Disney World.

Members of the Yellow Jacket Marching Band assembled at the school at 3:10 a.m. before departing for Orlando, Fla. to lead the Electric Parade at Disney World and perform their show "Glory," based on music from the Civil War.

The band, which finished in first place in Connecticut and first place in the Northeast in the Class IIA Division, came in third place in Nationals and won the first annual Cadet Award for Excellence. They were the only band to win the award in the Class IIA Division at the State's competition this year.

East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. congratulated the band for its long-standing tradition of success Thursday morning before the band left for Disney World.
