Schools to Receive $500K in State Aid
State Representative James Albis (D-East Haven) is pleased that under a proposal announced by Governor Malloy to reform education, East Haven will receive nearly $500,000 in additional education funding for fiscal 2012-13.
“This is clearly great news for East Haven’s schools and its students,” Rep. Albis said. “The proposed increase should help our local officials who annually face the challenge of putting together the town’s education budget.”
Under the proposed 2012-2013 Education Cost Sharing funding, East Haven will receive $19,253,992, an increase of $489,867, or 2.61%. This also represents an increase of $130 per student.
“It is important that we continue to invest in our students, teachers and schools,” Rep. Albis said. “I will fight to ensure that East Haven receives this additional funding.”
