'Nite in Hand' Needs Volunteers

Planning has begun for the Daniel Hand High School, Class of 2012, "Nite in Hand" safe graduation night. Three parents – Alicia Dolce, Peggy Van Antwerp and Linda Nietlisbach – have volunteered to co-chair this year's organizing committee and they are calling on other parents to volunteer. The next organizational meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in the media center at Daniel Hand.

"Nite in Hand" is a fun, safe and substance free evening held graduation night at the Daniel Hand High School. There is much work to do and volunteers are needed to head up a number of important committees. There are many opportunities to get involved, the co-chairs said. Nite in Hand is planned and funded entirely by parents, teachers, business owners, students and members of the community.

The first fundraiser for this year is the sale of Tiger Coffee. Tiger Coffee is a fair trade and organic coffee from Sumatra. It was custom roasted by Willoughby's Coffee and Tea and is now available for purchase at Given Fine Chocolates. All proceeds benefit Nite in Hand.

Can't attend the Jan. 10 meeting? Meetings throughout the rest of the school year will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the media center at Daniel Hand. To help at this very special event for the Class of 2012, attend the next planning meeting or contact the organizing committee at Niteinhand@gmail.com.
