Sure, you’ve got a list of New Year’s resolutions, but there is one last good deed to do before 2011 comes to an end. The E.C. Scranton Library is making its annual request for donations to its book fund, and the library appreciates your help. First, it’s called a “book fund” out of tradition. Today, the library is home to technology in all its forms—eBooks, audiobooks, downloads, databases, computers, DVDs, and on and on. Two-thirds of all these materials, and books of course, are purchased from donations. If you or a member of your family has used the library in the past year—surely you have—then consider writing out a check or making a donation on line. And if you do it by the end of the year, the contribution is tax deductible.
