05/12/2011 12:00 AMNorth Branford Police arrested Mark A. Missino, 43, of Waterford while in the custody of Judicial Marshals at GA 23 Superior Court in New Haven on other charges for his part in a residential burglary committed on May, 28, 2010 in the Northford section of North Branford.
On the date of the incident Missino was burglarizing a home at 11 p.m. when he was interrupted by the homeowner who was returning from an evening out. Missino then fled the home on foot and was not immediately located.
Missino gained access to the home by prying open a locked back door and, once inside the residence, ransacked the homeowner's personal belongings in an attempt to locate items he wished to steal. Although Missino escaped by foot he was able to take with him nearly $25,000 worth of personal items as well as a handgun which was later recovered during the course of the investigation.
Missino of 92 Shore Road, Waterford, remains in custody pending this and other cases against him. Missino was charged with Burglary 1st, Larceny 1st, and Theft of a firearm.
