04/22/2011 12:00 AMWith spring finally on its way, tackling our much needed yard cleanup jobs is a chore many of us would rather put off. However, this year, two North Haven seniors will be getting a little help when State Representative Dave Yaccarino (R-87) puts on a pair of gloves and picks up a rake to assist with their Spring yard work.
Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, Rep. Yaccarino and a group of volunteers will be cleaning up the yards of two homes in North Haven, one on Redbrick Lane and the other on Grove Road.
"This winter took a toll on a lot of people, especially our elderly population," Rep. Yaccarino said. "I organized this spring clean-up effort to help seniors who can't quite maintain their properties as they once did. North Haven is a wonderful place to live and giving back to our residents is what unites our community."
