01/27/2011 11:00 PMIn the special Board of Selectmen meeting held Jan. 27 (the original date, Wednesday Jan. 26, was cancelled due to the weather) the motion was made in a 3-2 vote to approve the Morgan School Building Committee's request for an appropriation for $19,000.
The $19,000 expenditure will be used to fund conceptual drawings for the layout of the proposed new high school, which is at an estimated cost of $50 million. The town would only have to pay $29 million after the state's $21 million reimbursement.
The proposal was then forwarded to the Board of Finance for their approval. If the Board of Finance also approves, the appropriation will have to meet the approval of voters and electors in a town meeting before moving forward.
