Yesterday (Oct. 19) at 5 p.m. the Old Saybrook Police Department arrested Geraldo “Tito” Figueroa, 33, in connection with the Monday burglaries at the Sheltered Cove condominium complex (see related story to the right). Old Saybrook Press Release

Old Saybrook police have been working dilligently compiling evidence and following leads in the Sheltered Cove burglaries. Figueroa was the owner of the vehicle that police seized from Sheltered Cove condominiums last night. Figueroa led police on a foot chase and caused the neighborhood to be in a lock down for almost two hours last night. Figueroa traveled to Fairfield last night after eluding police and falsely reported his vehicle as being stolen to the Fairfield Police.  

According to Old Saybrook Police, Figueroa, of 161 Birch Street, Waterbury,  will be facing at least the following charges: three counts of first degree burglary, criminal mischief, larceny and interfering with an officer.

Figueroa is currently being held Old Saybrook on a $250,000 bond pending arraignment in Middletown court today.
