10/19/2010 12:00 AMToday the office of the Mayor and the Town Assessor released the following message to East Haven residents:
Total Valuation Services LLC, has been contracted to assist in conducting the revaluation for the October 1, 2011 Grand List. Under the supervision of the assessor, this company will collect and analyze information regarding all properties in Town. The first step in this data collection process is to inspect and measure each residential structure as well as the commercial and industrial structures in Town. Once the data has been collected for the entire Town, the company and the assessor will analyze current market trends to arrive at a fair market value.Press Release from Town Assessor, Michael J. Milici
At some point in time a data collector will visit your home. Each data collector will carry photo identification and have their cars registered with the East Haven Police Department. After the interior inspection is completed, the homeowner will be asked to sign a form. The signature is only verification that their home was inspected and does not commit the homeowner in any way. A similar process will apply to all commercial and industrial properties.
The data collection process for residential properties will be concluding in the North End of Town, specifically the areas north of Thompson Street to the North Haven and North Branford town lines. Inspections for commercial and industrial properties will continue in all areas of Town as well.
Letters have been mailed to those property owners in the South Shore area that did not receive an interior inspection of their home. All these owners are encouraged to contact the company and allow the revaluation representatives entry into their home. This is done by appointment only.
If residents have any questions they should contact Town Assessor, Michael J. Milici at 203-468-3233.
