Madison police said that at 7:52 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, they were notified by the Guilford Police Department that they were at the Yale-New Haven facility investigating an incident that occurred in Madison. The Criminal Investigation Division responded, started an investigation, and is treating the death as suspicious, according to the department’s news release.
Madison police withheld further details, including the victim’s name. He was subsequently identified as Jaquell Jackson, almost 19, of West Haven, a 2009 graduate of West Haven High School where he was a member of the school’s tennis team. He was memorialized by friends and family Sunday afternoon at an informal gathering at tennis courts at Painter Park in West Haven.
