Branford Fire Department responded to a report of a child stuck in a tree in front of the John B Sliney School at approximately 5 p.m. yesterday.
Engine 1 and Truck 1 responded to the scene to find a boy clinging to the top branches of an approximately twenty-five foot tall tree. Firefighters Tim Kahre and Jesse Gulick climbed the ladder to rescue the boy. They quickly put a safety harness on the boy and lifted him from the swaying tree to the safety of Truck 1's ladder. The boy was assisted down the ladder to the ground where his mother was patiently waiting for him.
There were no injuries reported from this incident.
