Fasano Announces Bid to Run for Re-election
North Haven, CT – State Senator Len Fasano (R-34) today announced he will seek re-election as state senator of the 34th District. Senator Fasano who represents the towns of East Haven, North Haven and Wallingford filed paperwork last week establishing a candidate committee, the first step towards getting his campaign underway.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to represent the people of the 34th District,” said Senator Fasano. “We need to view the economic challenges we face as an opportunity to streamline government and reduce spending to a sustainable level. I will continue to work to get both parties on the same page so we can accomplish the job the people of this state elected us to do. I welcome the opportunity to again make my case to the people of the 34th District during the campaign ahead.”
A campaign kickoff fundraiser is scheduled for Thursday, April 1st, at Zandri’s Stillwood Inn in Wallingford from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Tickets are available through Christine at 203-787-6555.
Senator Fasano has represented the 34th Senatorial District communities of East Haven, North Haven and Wallingford since 2002. He is the Senate Minority Leader Pro Tempore, making him the chamber’s second highest ranking Republican.
In addition to his current leadership position, Senator Fasano is the Senate Ranking Member on the General Assembly’s Planning and Development Committee, Veterans Affairs Committee, and Legislative Management Committee and also serves on the Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee. He is currently working to establish a public cord blood banking system in Connecticut, leading the charge to pass legislation requiring informed consent for chiropractic procedures, and collaborating with MADD to come up with model regulations for high school athletes caught abusing substances.
Senator Fasano was born in New Haven on May 15, 1958, the son of Dr. And Mrs. Leonard Fasano, and has remained a resident of the Southern Connecticut area ever since. He attended Yale University, where he excelled both in and out of the classroom. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1981, and played running back for the football team under legendary coach Carmen Cozza. Senator Fasano went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from Quinnipiac Law School in 1984 and graduated from Boston University Law School a year later with an L.L.M. Degree in Taxation.
An active member of the community, Senator Fasano has served as the fire commissioner of East Haven, helped to establish the East Haven Land Trust, and has served as an East Haven Representative on the Long Island Sound Study Commission and as a member of the Hamden Hall Board of Trustees.

As President and Founder of Fasano, Ippolito, and Lee, Senator Fasano currently represents hundreds of clients in the Southern Connecticut area, focusing primarily on land transactions and zoning matters. He also works as an attorney for the East Haven Revitalization Commission and as an assistant town attorney for the town of Beacon Falls.
Senator Fasano resides in North Haven with his wife, Jill, and their children, Kristen, Robert and Karla.
