Man Arrested After Threatening to Kill Classmates


Branford Police arrested William Morales, 24, of Meriden, after he called the Branford Hall Career Institute and threatened to "...come there and kill everybody." School officials notified police just after noon on Tuesday, Nov. 17 after the school's receptionist received the harassing call from Morales. Sgt. Patrick O'Malley, said that investigating officers learned the identtiy of Morales from teh recepionist who had received other harassing calls from Morales over the past several weeks. Morales had been recently released from the school's program and was disgruntled with school officials.

Morales had been recently released from the school's program and was disgruntled with school officials."Our officers actively investigated and apprehended Morales in a timely manner because of the serious nature of the threat," said Branford Police Chief John DeCarlo. "We want to ensure that all of the educational institutions in our community are a safe and secure place to learn. Our young adults shouldn't have to be fearful of these types of threats while at school."

He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
