A Little Bit Of Everything

Husband and wife team Solomon Fiseha and Tigist Desalegn recently opened Habesha Ethiopian Restaurant & Bar, 46 Whitney Avenue, New Haven. I went there the night it opened and had a fabulous meal. I opted for the Beyaynetu, which means “a little bit of everything.” The dish came laden with Misir Wot, Defen Misir Wot, Shiro Wot, and more, along with, of course, the delicious traditional Ethiopian flatbread made from fermented teff flour, used instead of cutlery to eat the delicious food and soak up every little bit of goodness. Solomon and Tigist have worked their restaurant magic in Ethiopia, Dubai, and Middletown. I’m so glad they found their new home in New Haven and I can’t wait to return!
