Congrats to Pasta Avest, the winner of the recent Best Meatball Contest, in the professional category, at the Italian Fest at St. George’s Church in Guilford! The blind taste test was conducted in front of a live audience, which included me, seated on folding chairs and in the bleachers while we listened to live accordian music. “We would love for more people to fall in love with our meatballs!,” says Sarah Lopez from Pasta Avest, 680 Boston Post Road, Guilford. She says the secret of their success is consistency. “Consistency is always our goal, so our food tastes the same every time you come in, but the real key to a great meatball is for sure baking them before they finish in the sauce,” she says.
