Streaming: My Favorite Things, the 2023 London concert celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Rodgers & Hammerstein collaboration, is now available for streaming on Prime, Apple TV, Google Play, and other platforms. A DVD edition was also released. PBS aired an abridged version on Great Performances last spring. The concert featured a long list of Broadway and Longdon musical stars.

A Musical Delight: Sutton Foster and Michael Urie are total delights in the silly and fun-filled production of Once Upon a Mattress, now on Broadway through Sunday, Nov. 30. It’s based loosely on the Hans Christian Anderson fairytale, “The Princess and the Pea.” It is a great show for kids, but adults will laugh their heads off.

NY Notes: When the revival of Sunset Boulevard hits Broadway this fall, the English production will feature not one, not two, but three Norma Desmond’s. Nicole Scherzinger will reprise her London role, but Mandy Gonzalez will guest star at select performances, and Caroline Bowman will be the standby. Sara Bareilles, who wrote the hit Waitress, is working on a new musical–The Interestings, based on the book of the same name. It is still very much a work in progress. Both Water for Elephants and The Notebook are planning national tours beginning in 2025.
