A Perfect Gift: If anyone on your list would love to see Disney’s Frozen, the Broadway Musical, you can now purchase tickets for the performances at the Bushnell. The national tour will play for two weeks, from Feb. 8 to Feb. 18. For tickets, visit Bushnell.org.

Ella: Westport Country Playhouse is presenting First Lady of Song: Cherise Coaches Sings Ella Fitzgerald through Sunday, Nov. 5. Not only does it include the classic tunes Ella was known for but also her experiences: the triumphs and the tragedies. For tickets, visit WestportPlayhouse.org.

On the Pro Golf Tour: Cheese Fries and Chili Dips may not sound like a play about the pro golf tour, but it is. Connecticut native and pro golfer Chris Fuller relates his ups and downs and the characters who helped him. The world premiere is at Seven Angels Theatre through Sunday, Nov. 19. For tickets, visit SevenAngelsTheatre.org.

2024 at Goodspeed: Next year, Goodspeed will present a brand-new musical as well as three others. The season opens with The Mystery of Edwin Drood, based on the unfinished novel by Charles Dickens, from April 5 to June 2. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific finally makes it to the Goodspeed stage from June 14 to Aug. 11. The pandemic derailed a planned production not once but twice. The fall will feature a new musical, Maggie, from Aug. 23 to Oct. 20. The season will end with A Christmas Story, The Musical based on the well-known film; it runs Nov. 1 to Dec. 29. Season tickets are now on sale; single tickets will be available Feb. 22. For more information, visit Goodspeed.org.

Never Give Up: Tom Kitt, the award-winning composer of Next to Normal, and writer-lyricist Cameron Crewe, will be revising their short-lived Broadway musical, Almost Famous, at the Eugene O’Neill Center this month. While not common, shows do get revised after their Broadway openings. Public readings of the new version are Saturday, Nov. 11; Wednesday, Nov. 15; and Saturday, Nov. 18 at the O’Neill in Waterford.

Titanic: A filmed version of the 1997 Tony-Award-winning musical is being shown at The Kate in Old Saybrook on Tuesday, Nov. 21. This is a film of the recent English production of the musical. It may be available for screening following its theater showings.

Kiss My Aztec: The musical, which played at Hartford Stage in spring 2022, is taking another step towards Broadway. The John Leguizama musical held an industry presentation of excerpts in New York City in October.

NYC Notes: Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford will depart the production of Sweeney Todd on Jan. 14. No replacements have been announced. The musical Shucked!, which was unheralded but got great reviews, will close on Jan. 14. A national tour is planned. The comedy Purlie Victorious had extended its run through Feb. 4. The revival of the Ossie Davis play stars Leslie Odom, Jr. and Vanessa Bell Calloway. Jaja’s African Hair Braiding, another comedy, has extended through Nov. 19 at the Manhattan Theatre Club.
