Seven Days, More Than Two Dozen Shows, All Free From GreenStage Guilford
GreenStage Guilford is coming up, running from Sunday, Sept. 17 to Sunday, Sept. 24. It’s not only a chance to see internationally renowned artists, playwrights, comedians, dancers, and musicians perform, it’s also an eye-opening opportunity to appreciate that these artists and performers include that woman you saw in the coffee shop, that guy you stood next to in the produce department at Stop & Shop, or maybe your friend’s husband, your daughter’s friend from high school, or even that woman who lives down the street.
That the shoreline in particular, and Connecticut in general, is packed with artists and performers who could make it there, make it anywhere, but who have chosen to make their home among us is something that makes where we live special. And so we can show that appreciation in September by attending those performances.
In addition to watching and listening, attendees also will be offered the opportunity to jump in and play, dance, paint, tell stories, and otherwise tap into their own creativity.
Here’s a list of what’s coming up. All of these performances are free, except for the fancy dinner, which is also a fundraiser that helps support the generosity of the rest of the festival. Most of them are on the Guilford Green or nearby. If you can’t attend, but still would like to help out, visit www.greenstageguilford.org/friend-of-the-arts-donor.
