The Butterflies Of Salt Meadow

The Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge, 733 Old Clinton Road, Westbrook, will host a free in-person nature walk on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the butterflies of Salt Meadow. Have you ever seen a silver-spotted skipper, a summer azure or a red-spotted purple? Well these are all butterflies that attendees may spot when volunteer naturalist Tom Kelly leads them along refuge trails in Westbrook. This program is made possible through a partnership with the Connecticut Butterfly Association. Please register by Aug. 10 by emailing Shaun Roche, the visitor services manager, at shaun_roche@fws.gov. More information is availble on www.facebook.com/SBMcKinneyNWR.
