The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center will host American Idol winner Maddie Poppe on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at The Kate, 300 Main Street, Old Saybrook.

Poppe, 25, won American Idol in 2018 and since then, the Iowa native has evolved from folksy singer-songwriter into a more complex artist and musician. She’s tapping into a modern sound that blends R&B, pop, and Americana, and is writing her own songs.

Megan Danielle, runner up of American Idol Season 21, joins Poppe for this tour.
