Multigenerational Book Club at HCH Library

A new Multigenerational Book Club focused on experiencing America is being formed at the Henry Carter Hull Library, 10 Killingworth Turnpike, Clinton, beginning on Monday, Aug. 7 from 3 to 4 p.m. Registration is recommended by emailing Sara at sarah@hchlibrary.org. The in-person event is free and open to all adults, including seniors and teens over the age of 13. More information is available at events.hchlibrary.org/event/experiencing-america-book-club-good-talk.

The book club will explore topics including what does it mean to live in America now? What does America look like? How did we get to be who and where we are? The discussions will take place in collaboration with the Clinton Human Rights Committee, and book selections will be from the Experiencing America collection, curated by the Connecticut State Library, including adult and young adult books offering perspectives and voices that are intentionally human-centered explorations of identities and systems affecting contemporary America. In August, the group will discuss, Good Talk: A Memoir In Conversations by Mira Jacob. The author says the graphic memoir is “a love letter to the art of conversation—and to the hope that hovers in our most difficult questions."
