As always, Harmel went in deep with her research for this historical fiction novel. I was fully immersed into the world of art, books, and the heartbreaking realities of WWII. I felt I knew and cared for most of the characters and, although I thought I had it all figured out, the ending was quite a surprise. If you loved The Book of Lost Names, you will love this, too.
