Free Family Nature Presentation On The American Woodcock
A sure sign that spring is coming is the return of the American woodcock to Connecticut. Naturalist Patricia Laudano will offer a free family friendly presentation on one of the most unique shrubland birds to breed along the Connecticut coast.
Her presentation on the bird's natural history and behavior is followed by a walk along the trails at dusk to witness their dazzling courtship flight. The talk is sponsored by Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge.
One talk take place on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 4:30 p.m. and another will take place on Saturday, March 11 at 4:45 p.m. at the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge, 733 Old Clinton Road, Westbrook.
