Virginia Soell of Guilford wrote to us recently to tell us about something she loves. “Last spring,” she wrote. “Belle Vie Cafe opened in the Quonset hut next to the Guilford Community Center at (20) Church Street...The new owner, Alexandria, is a talented chef and manager and also a charming host. My group of friends meets there every Friday for lunch. The staff greet us by name; the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Recently, for a birthday, the staff provided a birthday cake with candles and came from the kitchen singing the Happy Birthday song. What a delight!” Come springtime, Virginia says, their group will be sitting outside on the pretty patio, along with the pups, who are allowed outside. Last month, Virginia tells us, the hours were expanded from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
