A Great Chef, A Good Guy

Michel Nischan is a four-time James Beard Award winning chef. He runs a company that sells responsibly sourced, plant-forward food to big dining facilities, and he uses part of the profits from that to support a non-profit food equity organization. He’s kind of a rock star in the food world, and he knows that, in a good way. He’s leveraging the celebrity status of chefs as a co-founder of the James Beard Foundation’s Chef’s Boot Camps for Policy and change, where he works with other chefs to figure out how they can help change the world for good. Oh, yeah, and the guy can cook. You can find out first hand by attending an upcoming Epicurean Series event at the Madison Beach Hotel, 94 West Wharf Road, Madison, Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m., where he will help create a fabulous five-course meal and then mix and mingle with guests.
