Nibbles: Little Pub
Over the years, I have watched any number of restaurants open, then rapidly disappear in the location where the Little Pub now lives. The difference, as I watched the contractors work, was the exterior. While it had been a pizza place, a Mexican place, and whatever, it now has been transformed into a Tudor-like country house, minus the sod roof. I met a friend from Madison there one odd, warm, rainy Thursday. As I looked through menu I decided it would work for anyone, from children to the oldsters. From apps and salads, to burgers and entrées, prices are reasonable and service is terrific. The first time I chose a burger with Gruyère and caramelized onions. The second was a day’s special burger, the Arthur Avenue {the Bronx}, a rare burger covered with peppers, onions, and some marinara. I like the fact that, when you ask for medium rare on the rare side, they know what you want. The fries are delish, too. I still love Haywire in Westbrook for burgers, but the Little Pub is excellent, too.
