The George Flynn Classical Concerts Presents the New Haven Symphony Orchestra
On Sunday, Nov. 4, The George Flynn Classical Concerts series will present the New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) with a full chorus performing Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana at the Morgan School Auditorium, 71 Killingworth Turnpike, Clinton.
The Chorus of Westerly (Rhode Island) will join the NHSO for this performance of Carmina Burana, best known for its powerhouse opening and closing movement, “O Fortuna.” The will open with Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty Waltz and Weber’s story of the Elf King, Oberon.
The New Haven Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by William Boughton and the concert will feature guest vocalists Lisa Williamson, soprano; Tim Fallon, tenor; and Zachary Johnson, baritone. Now in its 125th year of continuous operation, the mission of the NHSO is to increase the impact and value of orchestral music for its audiences through high quality, affordable performances and educational programming.
