We Have to Do Better

We have to do better. The most powerful campaign slogans write themselves, and it was this moment, at the conclusion of the State Senate District 34th debate, that Democratic candidate Brandi Mandato’s rallying cry echoed through the hearts of constituents. It’s no secret that our communities stand at a precipice, deciding once and for all whether democracy, whether humanity, will remain within our core values. As we approach that crossroad, I encourage every resident of the 34th District to choose the path of community and progress—by casting your vote for Democrat Brandi Mandato this November.

As candidate Mandato rightfully pointed out during the debate, policy is a lived experience. In this election cycle, that message resonated with women and marginalized demographics more than ever. The truth is—we feel the impact of legislation on every level, especially as women’s rights shrink month by month, all while some intersectional identities face complete erasure. As we flounder beneath the pressure of shrinking autonomy and scarcer freedoms, I find solace in leaders like Brandi Mandato. A woman, a mother, and a champion for the disenfranchised, candidate Mandato understands the immense responsibility of a State Senator.

Brandi Mandato serves her community with unwavering conviction, as evidenced by her extensive credentials and endorsements. After all, that’s why she co-founded North Haven Pride, serving as its co-chair since the organization’s establishment. It’s why she understands the difference between tolerance and acceptance and the importance of bipartisan leadership that culminates in a diverse perspective. And it’s why, this November, you should cast your vote for Democratic candidate Brandi Mandato for the 34th Senate District.
