Energy and Knowledge

I am voting for Cinzia Lettieri for State Representative in the 35th District. Let me tell you why.

Cinzia came to a Killingworth Democratic Town Committee meeting earlier this year to explain why she was running, to discuss the town's priorities, and to ask what she needed to do to meet the voters in our town. We saw that broadening the way she served her community was a priority for her.

The ensuing months showed us just how much energy and commitment Cinzia possesses. She worked to earn the endorsement of 12 state organizations, including the Connecticut State Builders and Trades Council, the Sierra Club, Reproductive Equity Now, and the Connecticut State Universities American Association of University Professors. She has knocked on thousands of doors in Killingworth, Clinton, and Westbrook—Democrat, Republican, and unaffiliated—introducing herself and listening to the concerns of voters. She is probably out there knocking on a door as I type.

Last week, as I watched her speaking with different groups of voters, two things stood out. The first is the compassion with which she speaks about the concerns and difficulties of the people she meets. She listens to them and does not forget their messages. The second standout is her broad knowledge of issues, including educational aims and policies, affordable housing, water pollution cleanup, and the sheer scope of the problems we face today.

Cinzia will go to Hartford as an advocate for her constituents—all her constituents. She is seeking a seat at the table to make sure that our voices are heard and our lives made better through good state governance.

Please join me in voting for Cinzia Lettieri on Tuesday, Nov. 5, for State Representative. Let her put her energy and knowledge to work for all of us.
