Earns My Vote

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, we once again have the privilege to select the individuals we think best represent our interests and those of our community. Hopefully, we make that choice in an informed way, transcending partisanship and focusing on our vision for the future of our community.

We look at what candidates say, and we look at what they actually do and measure that against what we think is important for our future, our children, and our grandchildren. When I engage in that process I find that John-Michael Parker comes closest to the candidate I am looking for to represent me and my family. I find that he is attuned to the current challenges, such as the mental health of our young people, environmental protection, care for our seniors and veterans, and supporting our local businesses.

I appreciate that he has been instrumental in bringing millions in state funding to our community. As co-chair of the Future Caucus, I want a representative who has an eye on the rapidly changing landscape of our society and what it means for the 101st District. I don’t expect to agree with a candidate on every issue. What I do expect is that when we disagree, they will listen respectfully, seek common ground, and work toward solutions.

JMP has proven that to me when we disagreed on an issue and he worked tirelessly to seek a resolution and serve as my representative. This is public service and earns my vote, and I hope after you have done your homework on the candidates, he will earn yours as well.
