What Could Be

Recently, I visited the Canoe Brook Senior Center in Branford, where I am volunteering in a program they offer. Yes, it is the size of a school. I walked in for my 1:30 p.m. meeting and was in awe. First of all, it is absolutely beautiful and huge, and everywhere I looked, people were milling about-walking into rooms, out of rooms, upstairs, downstairs, laughing, etc. After my meeting, I was so excited and energized to sign up to become a member of this vibrant and exciting center, only to find out I could not - residents only. Needless to say, I was so disappointed.

I am grateful Madison has a senior center, but it in no way compares to the vibrancy and activity level I witnessed in Branford. Have you ever visited our town gym? This is what we provide for our residents?

Enough said, but please, before deciding “no,” take a moment to visit Canoe and see what could be.
