I’m writing today in support of Brandi Mandato, who is running for State Senate in District 34. Let me tell you why I think Brandi is the right person for this job.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Brandi through the North Haven Democratic Town Committee. Every so often in life, you meet someone and immediately think to yourself, “Wow, this person is the real deal!” Brandi is just that. She is a kind and compassionate soul who you can tell is authentic from her first word.

As a veteran teacher and current Board of Education member, I live and breathe education. I’ve worked in underfunded schools and have seen firsthand how inequality impacts learning for our children. When my district faced severe budget cuts yet again, Brandi came to support our students and teachers. She knows that many districts, including those in District 34, will continue to face painstakingly difficult budget decisions unless something changes in Hartford. I know Brandi will fight for our children and their education.

Brandi cares. About you. About me. About all of us. She has spent her life advocating for those who need a voice. She believes deeply in equity for all people, whether it’s healthcare, education, housing, or jobs. I have no doubt that Brandi understands the needs of families like mine. We need Brandi in Hartford to advocate for us. Please join me in voting for Brandi Mandato on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
