Not a Part-Time Representative

Christine Cohen is someone who truly knows what it means to serve her community. From owning and operating Cohen’s Bagel Company for over 20 years to serving on her local Board of Education to now representing us in Hartford, Christine takes public service seriously.

I know many of you have experienced Chistine’s responsiveness and efficacy firsthand when reaching out to her office for help navigating state services. Christine and her fantastic legislative aid, Sue, expertly navigate the intersection of municipal, state, and federal government to help constituents cut through bureaucracy and advocate for their needs.

Christine is also an incredibly effective leader in Hartford and has brought back millions in state investment for Madison and Killingworth. Most recently, Christine and John-Michael Parker secured a state reimbursement of $6 million for the new Neck River Elementary School, relieving Madison taxpayers of that sizable burden while allowing us to invest in our students. She has secured funding to restore several trains on Shore Line East, invest in upkeep at Hammonasset and Chatfield Hollow State Parks, create a new community center in Madison, and so much more.

Connecticut may have a part-time legislature, but Christine is not a part-time representative. Christine engages thoughtfully and respectfully with all of her constituents, regardless of whether they see eye to eye, and she is unafraid to roll up her sleeves and tackle complex issues in our state. I will be voting for Christine Cohen, and I ask you to join me on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
