A Fiscal Champion

It seems like everything is more expensive these days. Whether it is groceries, cable, taxes, or energy, it feels as if we are being squeezed more and more. It is clear that Connecticut needs leaders who are going to do more to combat these high costs and work to make our state more affordable. Fortunately, we have a state representative who has always worked to reduce costs and push back against plans to increase them.

Devin Carney has made fiscal policies a centerpiece of his time serving us as our state representative. He has proposed different ways to reduce taxes on necessities to living in our area. With costs skyrocketing on cars, Devin proposed reducing their sales tax. Devin has led the effort to reduce the public benefits costs on our electric bills. He voted for the largest tax decrease in state history and was integral in keeping our fiscal guardrails together. It worries me that there is a lot of talk of dismantling our current spending and revenue caps because they have allowed us to pay down debt and amass a good-sized rainy-day fund.

Devin has a firm grasp of our state budget and a firm grasp of how it impacts household budgets. We need him in Hartford because we deserve a fiscal champion. Please join me in voting for him this November.
