04/17/2024 08:00 AMGuilford Art Center would like to thank First Selectman Matt Hoey and The Guilford Foundation for their support through the distribution of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. As one of 34 nonprofits awarded this funding, we are grateful to them for honoring, through this visionary support, the crucial role our organizations play in our community and the critical services they provide.
Guilford Art Center lost the ability to host our major fundraising event, Craft Expo, in 2020 and 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic—proceeds that are crucial to funding our educational and free offerings in the arts. Through the pandemic years, we were grateful to be able to provide programming, though restricted to lower capacities and also resulting in decreased income. As we have emerged to fuller operations, the generous ARPA funds will help ensure we can keep providing meaningful arts opportunities for all through our classes, events, gallery space, and shop.
“Creating Art & Community” is our credo at Guilford Art Center. We believe that the arts connect us, open us to new ideas, encourage mindfulness, and help us share beauty and joy. We are grateful to TGF and the Town of Guilford for their belief in this mission and work, and we pledge to continue to offer the benefits of the arts to all in our community.
