A Lot of Misinformation
As a former Chester and Region 4 Board of Education (BOE) member, I have followed the John Winthrop Middle School mold situation closely, and attending the public hearing on Feb. 21, I was a bit skeptical of an almost $6 million plan that didn’t fully correct the problem. However, after the meeting, I was inclined to support the plan, and I am more so after reading a detailed explanation of the problem and the pros and cons of different options. There is a lot of misinformation traveling through the grapevine, and I urge anyone planning to vote on March 26 to read the detailed document BOE member Lon Seidman posted on his personal blog, lonseidman.com. Regardless of how you vote, it will be a more accurately informed vote.
