Begging for Understanding

I am feeling desperate for the Tweed-New Haven Airport expansion to stop.

My husband and I have lived in our home since 1996, which is a block from Tweed on Emma Road, and when we bought the house, an expansion wasn’t even in our minds. My husband grew up right down the street on Marie Drive, and his grandparents built the house. So, for many years, an expansion wasn’t a thought, and Tweed was not a problem.

Since Avelo has been flying out of Tweed, my family and I have been disrupted by loud planes that wake my family and me up at all hours of the night. But what’s even worse is the horrible smell and the fear for our health. I am afraid of crashes, too!

I am also worried about traffic and emergency vehicles having access, flooding, and environmental issues.

This community is not intended for an expanded airport with frequent large planes coming in and out.

Please, I am begging for some understanding. The benefits of Tweed expansion do not outweigh the downfalls at all. My community feels neglected, and like we’re not cared about.

Please help!
