01/17/2024 08:00 AMWe are writing this note to convey our profound gratitude to the Madison and North Madison volunteer fire departments, along with departments from Guilford, Clinton, and Killingworth. On Oct. 28, an electrical fire occurred in our historic home, the Reverend John C. Elliott House, across from the Madison Town Green, while, at the same time, a second fire occurred on a pizza truck downtown. The response from the firefighters at our home was swift, and because of their efforts and bravery, this landmark house can be fully restored, and we are committed to making this happen in the coming year.
We tend to forget sometimes the amazing sacrifices made by our neighbors who serve, but it is at times like this that we realize how lucky we are to be able to rely on our volunteer firefighters in Madison and in our neighboring communities. We thank them all.
