12/13/2023 08:00 AMAs chair of the Friends of the Guilford Free Library’s recent Holiday Book Sale, I want to thank everyone who made the event both successful and joyous.
The preschoolers from the Guilford Center for Children created colorful decorations for the Library’s lobby. The Concert Singers from the Adams Middle School, led by Matthew Sanchez, performed beautifully and delighted our shoppers with holiday carols and songs. Local musicians Mimi Dudley and Amanda Merrill lent their musical talents to the festivities. Throughout the year, members of the Friends had sorted through tons of donated books to find items that might make perfect gifts, and the library staff graciously provided their professional expertise. Above all, I want to thank the entire community for coming out to support the Library with purchases and goodwill. We could not have done it without you!
The proceeds from this and all the Friends’ sales are used to purchase books and equipment, support programs for all ages, and fund enrichment opportunities for the library staff.
Please consider joining the Friends or donating gently used books and paper ephemera, including prints or maps, for future sales.
