Use Your Voice
Hello Old Saybrook! My name is Rick Swan, and I’ve had the privilege of serving on our Board of Finance (BOF) for the last four years. My "day job" is working as an assistant director at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).
I was born and raised in Old Saybrook, which gives me a lot of historical town knowledge and a genuine love for this community we call home. I’m not afraid to ask the hard questions, and I pride myself on keeping open lines of communication with taxpayers. I’m driven by the need to always ask: “What’s right for Old Saybrook? What makes sense? What would the town’s people want done with their tax dollars? Just because we can afford it doesn’t always mean we need it.”
Besides my work on the BOF, I am a past member of the Old Saybrook Fire Department and Old Saybrook Ambulance and a current member of the Valley Shore Mutual Aid Association.
My goal for the BOF is to continue to scrutinize every expense item and continue to work as a team to improve the lives of our residents at a reasonable cost to all. Please remember that when you go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 7, you use your voice to influence policies and programs for the well-being of everyone in our community. I humbly ask for your support for reelection to the Board of Finance as well as for the entire slate of Old Saybrook’s Republican candidates.
