The Honor of Serving

My name is Tom Stevenson, and I am running for reelection to the Board of Finance (BOF). I have had the honor of serving the citizens of Old Saybrook in this role for the last 10 years.

I am a lifelong Old Saybrook resident and, after my U.S. Navy military service, worked in different vocations in our municipal and state governments. Local governance could be a diverse and complex arena; as such, I believe I have a unique sense of government operations, affording me the ability to relate to our residents on several levels.

My goals for the BOF are to continue with common sense budget and spending, maintain transparency, support efficiency in our government, encourage public comment, and for seniors and veterans to attend BOF meetings.

In addition to my work on the BOF, I am a current volunteer for the Old Saybrook Historical Society, a member of the board of directors for the Old Saybrook Riverside Cemetery for over 15 years, and an active member of the Old Saybrook Republican Town Committee.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, I ask for your vote and for the outstanding slate of Republican candidates running for office. Thank you for the opportunity to work on your behalf and to directly contribute to the quality of life we all enjoy.
