Putting Clinton’s Priorities First

Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 7. It is called a municipal or local election. Unfortunately, few people will vote believing that nothing important is going on. But that is far from reality. Unlike state-wide and federal elections, these races can be decided by a handful of votes, our votes. The outcomes of these races will impact our town and our lives.

Seats and control of the Town Council, Board of Education, Planning and Zoning, and Police Commission are among some of the races we vote on. Our elected local officials allocate funds in local budgets, including town projects, school district budgeting, how to spend taxpayer dollars, and whether or not to raise taxes. These decisions matter; the people we elect matter to our neighbors, friends, and businesses; they matter to our town.

This November, let’s get out and vote to elect the candidates who are dedicated to putting Clinton’s priorities first. Revitalizing downtown, economic development, and making sure we’re investing in our youth and their futures. It’s time to elect Hank Teskey and Brian Roccapriore for Clinton Town Council and the candidates of Row A to create the change we want to see in the place we call home.
